The Janakpur Art School in Janakpur, Nepal is the most respected institution for Mithila art education in the world. Founded in the 1970s to support women artists in the Mithila region, the school has nurtured hundreds of accomplished practitioners over five decades.

Our partnership focuses on artist development — supporting residencies, commissions, and exchanges that strengthen the livelihoods of Mithila artists on both sides of the India-Nepal border.
